COVID-19 has accelerated the adoption of telehealth, but digital therapeutics, diagnostics and remote patient monitoring are predicted to play a more significant role moving forward, says Liz Ashall-Payne, founder and CEO of ORCHA.

Digital tools are being widely adopted across the globe during the COVID-19 pandemic, with remote monitoring for chronic care popular in the Nordics, says Marianne Larsson, director of new industries and innovation at Innovation Skåne.

The latest results from the HIMSS Women in Health IT (WHIT) EMEA Annual Survey found that lower salary, exclusion from decision making, increased workload and fewer public speaking opportunities are the major forms of discrimination for respondents.

Since launching the new systems, the health system has increased organic traffic to its website by nearly 30% and increased provider data accuracy by the same percentage.

At Ohio-based Harbor, telemedicine services are up 564% compared with 2019. From March to August this year, the provider treated 15,259 patients via remote consult with help from its Lighthouse Telehealth subsidiary.
