Artificial intelligence in medical education is a very new subject, indeed. But one physician educator is taking on AI full steam.

Dr. Ronald Rodriguez is program director of the MD/MS in Artificial Intelligence dual degree at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. New physicians graduate with a firm grasp of what AI can do to help clinicians – and what it cannot do.

In this week's HIMSSCast, Rodriguez discusses how he and his team are broadening the program beyond medical students into additional healthcare colleges, how AI already is reshaping day-to-day healthcare operations and how the team is preparing professionals for this shift, the role community engagement plays in his strategy to build AI fluency, and much more.
