In the first episode of this three-part HIMSSCast, we talked with Greg Kuhnen, system director for analytical solutions at UNC Health, about the health system's work – for more than a decade, so far – to harness its troves of clinical, financial and operational data toward higher-quality and more efficient care delivery.

That episode focused on some basic table stakes for effective data governance and management, with some perspective on how the HIMSS Adoption Model for Analytics Maturity has helped along the way.

In this week's installment, Kuhnen discusses how the AMAM scale – recently updated, and now known as the Analytics Maturity Assessment Model – is helping UNC better target its data toward analytics use cases that advance the larger strategic goals of the health system.
